this painting base on three couples situated in a mexican restaurant in heart of Barcelona. Lee and Araya in the middle, the couple from Venezuela on the right side. Melissa, the writer on the front left and the guy (maybe the waiter) at the back, looking out side. i was trying to catch a brief moment of a situation and the place. i took many photos and use photoshop to build up this 'brief moment' situation
The human figure and its details is the last one to do in the traditional Mughal painting. in some ways the creation of these painting is paralel to the creation of the world in Genesis (the first book of the bible). first you paint the background, then the animels and the human being is the last one to paint

This painting done on very thin silk using
Mughal technique and style. the final touch done with very thin one hair brush, define the small delicate details, and with so much love and care . you must see and feel the real painting because there is all kind of things and feelings i can't even describe on screen and you can not get from a photo. the Materiality of the painting. the paint and the fine line ... almost blend with the silk but still remains a solid classical painting. once i did all the way to india to come close and learn more about this technique and the people who still doing it and keep this tradition over the years. Manish Kumar is one of them and this the way i met him in the city Palace shop in Udaipur. i thanks him very much.
